Developed as an environmentally friendly alternative to precast cover slabs, the enviroSLAB® is designed as a seating for gully gratings used on highways and trunk roads.
Traditional concrete products are heavy, brittle and can be difficult to handle on-site, causing costly replacements for breakages or lost-time due to fatigue or injury. Each enviroSLAB® is a one-piece moulding that is far lighter than concrete without compromising on strength and durability.
As the enviroSLAB® system is manufactured from 100% recycled materials, the unit weights are far lower than traditional materials offering significantly reduced manual handling & H&S implications for site personnel. There are no sharp or rough edges on chambers which can be drilled or adapted on-site to fit around existing services.
Currently available in a 100mm depth as standard, the enviroSLAB® horseshoes will also be available in 65mm depths shortly. Slabs simply interlock to form a completely load bearing unit. Slabs work in conjunction with the leading gully grating & frame options available on the market.
enviroSLAB® horseshoe gully slabs are manufactured from 100% recycled post-industrial PVC destined for landfill which can also be fully recycled at the end of their service life.
enviroSLAB® horseshoes have been independently tested in accordance with BSEN124 D400 loadings and are suitable for areas imposing wheel loads of 40 tonne such as highways and trunk roads.
enviroSLAB® gully slabs are far quicker to lay than concrete, therefore ensuring reduced labour costs. They also eliminate the need to lay engineering bricks and the vertical joint weak points in brickwork. By sitting flush to the kerb unit, an enhanced stability is achieved and interaction between gully pot below and grating above.
